For golfers on the East Coast, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a round. Here is a look at some of the top golf resorts in the Northeast.
Omni Mount Washington Resort
The Mount Washington Course has been around for over a century. The course was built by Donald Ross, and recently renovated by Brian Silva. The Omni Mount Washington resort offers 9 hole and 18 hole golf courses. The Par 72 7,000 yard course has hosted multiple tournaments, including The New Hampshire Open and New England Open Championship. The Mount Washington Course offers great views of Omni Mount Washington Hotel and the surrounding areas. The Mount Washington Course has been honored by Golfweek. There are multiple golf and lunch specials throughout the year.
Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club
The Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club has hosted a number of famous athletes, musicians, and presidents. The Pines Course hosted the 1942 PGA Championship. The 18 hole Pines Course covers close to 7,000 yards of land. The Turtle Course is famously named after the Diamondback Terrapins that are frequent visitors during the summer months. The 9 hole course has sloping holes that will present an interesting challenge. The Bay Course is an 18 hole links course that has constantly been impacted by the winds blowing from the Atlantic Ocean.
Turning Stone Resort
Turning Stone has a large number of courses for golfers to enjoy, each with their own distinct features. The Atunyote resort is the longest of the three courses at Turning Stone Resort. Designed by Tom Fazio, the Atunyote course hosted the Turning Stone Resort Championship, BC Open, and PGA Professional National Championship. Atunyote has open spaces, waterfalls and multiple lakes. The Kaluhyat course was designed by Robert Jones, and has received National recognition from Golfweek. Kaluhyat emphasizes elevation, and there are spectacular views of the terrain, and the surrounding lakes. Golfers who enjoy the technical aspect should love Kaluhyat. The Shenedoah Course offers golfers the chance to enjoy high level golf in a unique setting. Shenedoah played host to the PGA National Club Professional Championship.
Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort has multiple courses along the Appalachian Trail. Famous designers such as Von Hagge, George Fazio, and Trent Jones helped create a unique golfing experience. Ballyowen is spread out over 250 acres with great views of the Wallkill River. Cascades features junior tees to help make the game easier for younger golfers.
